We are back fishing!

Monday, June 27th, 2011

It has been a while since our last post.  Fishing season has moved forward again in a great way.  We are catching Black and Red Drum in inlets as well as some Flounder.  The Flounder coming in have gotten bigger each week.  Last week we had multiple 7 lb + Flounder and it will only get better.  Offshore is strong as well.  Come by the store to get all the latest updates and all of the best ideas of how to have a great fishing day.

Fish Are Around!

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Some Trout are being caught in the holes along the beach.  Occasional Flounder as well, but it won’t last long with them the water is getting too cold.  Some Stripers up the river.  Reds are being caught in the mouth of the inlets as well as Whiting still on the deep flats.

Virginia Mullet have arrived in the surf!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Over the weekend, I saw a group of people catching these great tasting fish on every cast.  Since then the bottom fell out and we have so much rain that it might have risen the Atlantic.  When the fresh water clears out some, they will be back.  Use small pieces of fresh shrimp from the store or catch some sand fleas.  Both work well.

Blues and Spanish are right near beach

Troll  just off beach for the best bite.  A 5.7lb Spanish caught by Andy Everhart yesterday.  A few large Kings are being caught on the piers.

fish on!

Friday, May 7th, 2010

I ran north of the Same Ol yesterday and had 12 mahi & 1 white marlin. Water temp was average 75 degrees as we found most of the fish right on the temp break and weed lines. All of my fish were caught on ballyhoo rigged seawitches and blue water candy “gaffer candys”. The majority of the fish were on blue/whites or blue/pinks. No wahoo or blackfin tunas in my area. All the reports south around the steeples were full of blackfin & wahoo, and a weaker bite of mahi.

Today we have weighed a 4.5 lb flounder caught in the inlet & a 57 lb wahoo caught at the steeples. Some reports today of spanish caught from sheepshead rock all the way up to the Marriott reef. Also alot of smaller flounder caught in the surf and some large schools of bigger redfish. Fishing season is here folks.

A few whiting are being caught in the surf along with small flounder around the piers.  Its going to be a good day today and Saturday, up in the 80’s. Cooling some on Sunday when the front comes through.  This week should be the last of the cool days until Oct.  So, get out the gear and catch some fish.

Perfect Weather

Monday, April 5th, 2010

The weather over the holiday has been perfect.  If you were not here you missed out.  A few Bull Reds are being caught on the South End in the surf and some small flounder.  Sand Fleas are back so the Virginia Mullet are not far behind.

Great weather the past few days.

The sun might be back for the spring.  That means the fishing is heating up.  Specks are on the move with a few being caught in the surf.  The longer it stays warm, the better it will get.
